Licensed vs. Unlicensed Assistants
In 2004, the Minnesota Legislature changed the rules on what is permissable with respect to an unlicensed person disclosing information regarding listed property.
Formerly, the only information an unlicensed person could give out was to state the address of the listed property and whether it was available for sale or lease.
Under the new statute, an unlicensed person can now disclose all factual information regarding listed property so long as that information has been provided to the unlicensed person in written form or electronically by the broker representing or assisting the seller.
