Membership Types
The association offers many membership options for both REALTORS® and non-REALTORS®. Look below to identify the type of membership you need, and click on the link to find out the required dues and forms for that membership.
Becoming a member also makes you a member of the Minnesota Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®, and give you access to all the resources offered by those associations such as forms, field guides, and discounts on services and programs you might need for your business.

REALTOR® Memberships
- Broker memberships are for those that possess a broker license
- Agent memberships are for those that possess a real estate license
- Allied memberships are for REALTORS® that belong to an association that is not part of the RMLS (other than the Saint Paul, North Metro, Southern Twin Cities, or Minneapolis boards)
- Secondary memberships are for REALTORS® that belong to another association in the RMLS (North Metro, Southern Twin Cities or Minneapolis boards); there are Secondary Agent and Secondary Broker memberships
- Honorary memberships are for those who have been an active and integral SPAAR member over a long period of time; to apply for this type, simply complete the application and send it to the association for approval
Non-REALTOR® Memberships
- Affiliate memberships are for those that do not possess a real estate or appraiser license.
- Appraiser memberships provide all member benefits, including access to all MLS information to those with an appraiser's license
- Secondary Appraiser memberships give access to all MLS data, instead of just sold and tax information, for those who have an appraiser's license and who are at a office with an existing Appraiser membership
- Office/REALTOR® Assistant memberships are for those that do not possess a real estate license, but work within a broker member office
If you are transferring from or to another association, you must complete a member change form and contact our key administrator to transfer your SuperKey.

New Member and Licensing Requirements
All new members are required to take an Orientation class, which covers the code of ethics. Orientation classes are offered every month. To view the next available class, view our calendar of events.
